2024 Octopus — Sparkling Albariño

Light and fresh, with gooseberry, kumquat, and stonefruit blossom. A fantastic aperitif wine, and guaranteed to pair with many favorite recipes, including grilled octopus.
Vineyard: Gomes Vineyard, Andrus Island (Sacramento River Delta). Planted by Lodi grower Markus Bokisch and farmed by the Gomes family, whose roots are in Portugal. Dry-farmed and transitioning to organic certification.
Winemaking: Native-yeast fermentation in stainless steel. Traditional method, bottled with fresh yeast and a small amount of sugar for secondary fermentation, aged briefly, then riddled and hand-disgorged. Short aging preserves brightness and freshness.
